The City will host two community workshops and has launched an online survey to gather public input on the next leader for the South Pasadena Police Department.
The City is recruiting a new Police Chief to succeed Art Miller, who left in August to become Chief of Police in Peoria, Arizona.
“We are very interested in hearing feedback from our residents on the skills, values, leadership qualities, and other characteristics they want to see in the next police chief,” said City Manager Stephanie DeWolfe. “We will also gather input on what top priorities the new chief should address.”
The first workshop will be Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. in the South Pasadena Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro St.
The second workshop will be Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the South Pasadena Senior Center, 1102 Oxley St.
In addition to the workshops, the City has launched an online survey to gather community input.
Residents are invited to participate in the short survey at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YQFWNM2
Community input gathered at the public meetings and online survey will be used to guide the recruitment and ultimate selection of the new chief, DeWolfe said.
The City will launch its recruitment immediately following the Nov. 13 workshop and expects to have the new Chief named in February.
