Sanctuary II Art Exhibit & Live Performance by Holguitano

"Sanctuary II" Art Exhibit with a Very Special Musical Guest Opens on Thursday, June 13 at 5 p.m. in Library Community Room
Also open Friday, June 14, 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, June 15, 5-9 p.m.

More than 500 visitors experienced the “Sanctuary” Art Exhibit during its highly successful run in the South Pasadena Public Library during the last week of March 2018. Since then, the exhibit, which debuted in South Pasadena, has traveled to other areas. By popular request, a Sanctuary II Art Exhibit has been co-curated by Jimmy O’Balles, Mario Hernandez, and Vanessa Acosta and it will be showcased in the Library Community Room from Thursday, June 13 through Saturday, June 15 from 5-9 p.m.  on all three days. Sanctuary II will present important works by approximately 30 highly accomplished artists expressing love, hope, and solidarity with their art on the timely theme. On opening night, June 13, at 6 pm, opening remarks will be offered by Mayor Marina Khubesrian, MD followed by a wonderful live acoustic guitar performance by Holguitano will be start at 6 pm.

The Library Community Room is located at 1115 El Centro Street. Admission is free and no tickets or reservations are necessary. Free parking is available after noon at the Mission Meridian Parking Garage located at 805 Meridian Avenue adjacent to the Metro Gold Line Station, only one block from the Library.

The South Pasadena City Council, on October 4, 2017, unanimously introduced an ordinance declaring South Pasadena a “safe and welcoming city for immigrants.” The council passed the ordinance in an effort to protect the rights and privacy of all residents.
