Purpose, Membership, and Terms
The Animal Commission is a five member body that is advisory to the City Council on all matters concerning animals. It provides residents with information about animals and monitors services that exist or may be needed; it also interprets concerns of the public to the City. Qualifications for serving on the commission consist of an interest in the well-being of animals and being a resident elector (registered voter) of the city. Members are appointed to a three-year term, with a maximum length of service of two full consecutive terms, plus one partial term (if applicable).
Meetings are held on the 1st Monday in January, March, April, May, September and November; during holidays, the meeting will be held on the 2nd Monday; at 6:30 p.m.
