The Recreation Division hosts annual events and programs as listed below.

Update(s) regarding Closure:

As of March 23rd, 2020, the Recreation Division office will be closed until April 20th, 2020. Please note that all Spring Leisure classes will be cancelled and all registrants will be contacted for refunds processing.

We hope to return to normal business hours on Monday, April 20th, 2020. Please visit our web-page closer to this date to be notified if we will be open during that time and check out some potential Summer classes!

We hope you have a safe and healthy time with your loved ones. 



Due to health and safety concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Recreation & Youth classes, events, and facilities will be closed effective March 16th. City officials will reevaluate reinstating service mid-April.

The following services will be closed/cancelled until further notice is received:

  • Camp Med, School Year & Spring Break Camp
  • Teen Center
  • Leisure Classes & Spring Specialty Camps
  • Facility Rentals
  • Special Events

Please note that the school district is closed until April 3, 2020. You may check for SPUSD’s closures/information here.

 Due to precautionary public health and safety measures against COVID-19/Coronavirus, the City of South Pasadena is cancelling this year's Eggstravaganza event.

We apologize for any inconveniences.


Our annual Eggstravaganza will be held 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue.

The event will be featuring the Easter Bunny itself! Photo opportunities will be available. Other fun stuff includes: games, inflatables and arts and crafts for the whole family!

Tickets are $10 per person, and are unfortunately not refundable.

Tickets may be sold at the event for $15 per person. Registration begins on March 1!
