NEW Program through the City of South Pasadena's Teen Center & Cal State Los Angeles
Presenting Young Transition Navigator Program

The objective of this free program is to integrate the youth into the workforce or post-secondary education upon graduation.  The training program will contain five modules:

- Self-exploration
- Interpersonal relationships
- Counseling
- Employment preparedness
- Person-center planning 

The Young Transition Navigator Program will offer an evidence-based roadmap for students to obtain desirable life skills; as well as support the Teen Center as a fieldwork site for rehabilitating adolescence seeking support in transitional services.

The sixteen-week program (January 22, 2018 – May 18, 2018) is geared towards teens ages 13-18. The Program is led by a Cal State LA Rehabilitation Education Professor, along with graduate and undergraduate students who will facilitate the workshops. Class meetings are Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m.

  • Week 10- Resume
  • Week 11- Professional Etiquette & Cover Letter
  • Week 12- Cover Letter & Dress for Success
  • Week 13- 3 Minute Promo & Interview
  • Week 14- Interview & Mock Interviews
  • Week 15- Person Centered Plans
  • Week 16- Portfolio & Graduation Ceremony at Cal State LA (Families are welcome and encouraged)

The Teen Center is a free drop in program for ages 13-18, supervised by Recreation staff, offered during the school year.

The goal of the Teen Center is to provide a safe environment for teens to express themselves in a positive manner and provide current resources geared towards teens. Workshops and classes will be scheduled including topics from Planned Parenthood, Self-Defense, SAT/ACT workshops, homework help and open dialogue on current events.
The Teen Center is located at the Recreation Division (mid-level) at 815 Mission Street. For questions please call staff at 626-403-7380.
