Fitness Opportunities:


Fun-ctional Fitness: Class is designed to improve everyday functional fitness through upper & lower extremity strengthening, core, stretch and some aerobic training at the intermediate level. Offered monthly on Mondays, Wednesday & Thursday. Monday & Thursdays from 8:30-9:30 am and Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 am. A fee of $26 a month for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. $16.00 for two days and $10.00 for Thursdays only per month to attend. *Bill Shuttic, Certified Trainer & Massage Therapist leads the class.*

Ballroom Dance (Mondays - Ongoing), 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm- Ballroom Dance Instructor Tony designed this class to give students an immersion into the technique, understand the connection and figures of Ballroom Dance, no previous experience needed. Students will learn the patterns and character of each dance, as well as how to recognize the music. They will learn the basic of leading, following and developing timing and rhythms.  At the end of the series of classes, participants should feel comfortable dancing through an entire song at parties and events. Instructor Tony Pasil is a certified dance instructor.  

  Monthly cost $25.

Line Dance Instruction: This unique class is offered with instruction on the newest dance steps and stretching/cool down at the end of each class. Ongoing class offered on Thursdays from 9:00 - 10:30 am, led by Pauline Wong.

Yoga: Increase flexibility through positions that act upon the various joints of the body. Including those joints that are rarely exercised. Yoga also works different tendons and ligaments of the body. A new session will be added on Wednesday mornings 8:30-9:30 am. Mondays and Wednesdays the cost is $24, One Day (Mondays or Wednesdays) the cost is $12.00, or $4.00 per class. Chair Yoga: On the second Monday of each month come to the Senior Center and exercise with Chair Yoga, brought to you by Huntington Hospital.  

Mindfulness Meditation Class: Join instructor Candace Podvoll, certified Meditation Instructor, every Tuesday at 9am, as she leads sessions of guided meditation and discussion. The cost is $5 per class or $16 for a 4 week session.

Walking Group Group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 am. Newcomers welcome.  Meet at SC and group will introduce you to the regulars.  Group is friendly and encourages one another. An easy form of exercise and does not require equipment, and allows for socializing at the same time.  Lead volunteers are: Marta Pando and Linda Mendoza.
