Passport Services

The South Pasadena Public Library is a registered Passport Acceptance Facility and is designated to accept passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs, Office of Passport Services. Acceptance agents are trained to provide information to applicants and to ensure applications are completed accurately and include all required documentation. Services are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Appointments are scheduled in the current week for the following week, starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. To schedule an appointment, call the South Pasadena Public Library Administration Office at: (626) 403-7330.

How Much Does a Passport Cost?

Download the full Passport Services Chart of Fees. The Library offers on-site passport photos for $17 per set.

Passport Application Fees are payable to the U.S. Department of State
(Payments must be check or money order).

Passport Execution ($35) and Photo Fees ($17) are payable to the City of South Pasadena
(Payments must be check or money order.)

What is Required to Apply for a Passport?

  1. All first-time applicants and all minors are required to complete a DS-11 Application.
  2. Valid identification.
  3. Submit proof of United States citizenship (birth certificates, naturalization certificate, or other similar citizenship document).
  4. Passport photo: 2" x 2" color photograph, full-faced with white or off-white background, eyeglasses may not be worn.

How do I Apply for Child's Passport?Baby Passport

  1. All minors are required to complete a DS-11 Application.
  2. All minors must appear in person.
  3. Both parents need to appear in person with valid identification.
  4. Submit proof of United States citizenship for the minor (birth certificates, naturalization certificate, or other similar citizenship document).
  5. Passport photo: 2" x 2" color photograph, full-faced with white or off-white background, eyeglasses may not be worn.

Contact the South Pasadena Public Library Administration Office at (626) 403-7330 for more information on how to obtain a child's passport when only one parent is available to appear with the child, to authorize a third party to apply for the passport, or if the minor is 16 or older.

How Long Does it Take to Get a Passport?

Routine services is estimated at 4-6 weeks.

Expedited service is estimated at 2-3 weeks.

If you are traveling internationally in less than 2 weeks, you are eligible to schedule an appointment with the Los Angeles Passport Agency with proof of international travel. Appointments are required. Call 1-877-487-2778 to schedule an appointment.
