Sergeant Robert Bartl is currently an Acting Captain that supervises Patrol and Detectives.
Sergeant Bartl was hired by the South Pasadena Police Department in 1990. His assignments over the past twenty eight years have been, Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Motor Officer and Detective. He promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1996 and worked as a Patrol Watch Commander supervising Patrol Officers, Police Assistants, Clerks and Cadets. As a Patrol Watch Commander, he was also responsible for the traffic section supervising and managing pedestrian details, commercial enforcement operations, DUI checkpoints and writing State Grants.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the Supervisor Leadership Institute, The West Point Leadership Program and POST Management course and currently sits on the Disaster Management Area C Governing Board.
