Certified Green Zone City In 2016, the City became the first in the nation to be certified as a Green Zone City by the American Green Zone Alliance. The certification ensures that grounds maintenance on municipal properties - spanning 41 acres - are serviced exclusively with low-noise, zero-emission, electric machinery. This equipment prevents South Pasadena from creating 31 tons of pollutants and conserving energy every year.
