South Pasadena, CA – In the early morning hours of Thursday, July 31, 2025, South Pasadena Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle observed driving erratically. The driver failed to yield, prompting a vehicle pursuit that extended beyond city limits.
During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle collided with a parked car in the 1700 block of Atlantic Boulevard in Alhambra before fleeing the scene. The pursuit concluded in the 300 block of Atlantic Boulevard in Monterey Park, where officers successfully apprehended the driver.
The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Juan Ramirez-Carreto of Palmdale, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked at Pasadena City Jail for multiple offenses, including driving under the influence, evading police, hit and run, driving without a license, and an outstanding warrant related to a previous DUI arrest.
A female adult passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
