Subject: Officers Arrest Suspect During Residential Burglary in Progress
South Pasadena, Calif. – On Friday, November 28, 2025, at approximately 1:35 p.m., South Pasadena Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Meridian Avenue after a resident reported hearing glass breaking at a neighboring home. The caller believed a burglary was in progress and immediately contacted police.
An officer and his partner, who were patrolling nearby, arrived within seconds of the call being dispatched. Upon arrival, the officers saw a man standing outside the residence next to a broken window. The officers quickly detained the suspect as additional units responded to assist.
Once the scene was secure, officers entered the home and confirmed that a burglary had occurred. The suspect was identified as Sergio Marquez, 38, of Los Angeles. He was arrested and booked into the Pasadena Jail for PC 459 – Residential Burglary.
