Subject: Fatal Traffic Collision

South Pasadena, Calif.– On March 3, 2026, at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Hope Street for an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

South Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene immediately and began providing life-saving care to the pedestrian.  The pedestrian, an elderly male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.  The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Hope Street between Fair Oaks Avenue and Brent Avenue was closed for several hours as officers conducted the investigation, but the street has since reopened.
