Subject: Suspect Arrested for Commercial Burglary

South Pasadena, Calif. – On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at approximately 1:37 a.m., the South Pasadena Police Department Communications Center received a burglary alarm call from a business in the 1400 block of Huntington Drive. The alarm company advised they were in contact with the business owner, who observed an unknown adult male inside the store via surveillance cameras.

Officers responded to the location and quickly established a containment around the business. During the containment, the suspect, identified as Jesus Zamora, 19, an unhoused individual from the Los Angeles area, attempted to exit the business carrying two tote bags filled with merchandise. Upon seeing officers outside, he retreated back into the store but ultimately complied with officers’ commands and surrendered without further incident.

During the investigation, Suspect Zamora admitted he pulled on the front doors of the business, discovered they were unlocked, and entered the business to steal merchandise. Zamora was arrested for Commercial Burglary and transported to the South Pasadena Police Department for booking.
