South Pasadena, Calif. – The City of South Pasadena Community Services Department is excited to announce a full lineup of summer community events, including the International Soccer Watch Party, Concerts in the Park, Movies in the Park, Shakespeare in the Park, and the City’s annual 4th of July celebration.
These events provide residents, families, and community members with opportunities to gather, enjoy live entertainment, celebrate community traditions, and experience South Pasadena’s parks and public spaces throughout the summer.
The summer event schedule includes:
International Soccer Watch Party
Date: Friday, June 12, 2026
Time: 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Location: Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue
The City will host an International Soccer Watch Party featuring the USA vs. Paraguay match, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Community members are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and team spirit for an evening of soccer, music, food vendors, community booths, and family-friendly activities.
4th of July Celebration
Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
The City of South Pasadena will host its annual 4th of July celebration with the theme, “From Sea to Shining Sea: 250 Years of the American Spirit,” honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The day will begin with the Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. at the South Pasadena Fire Station, located at 817 Mound Avenue. The Opening Ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room, located at 1115 El Centro Street, followed by the 4th of July Parade at 11:00 a.m. The parade will travel along Mission Street from Diamond Avenue to Garfield Park.
Following the parade, the celebration will continue at Garfield Park, located at 1000 Park Avenue, with family-friendly activities, food vendors, games, and community entertainment until 2:00 p.m.
The evening celebration will take place at South Pasadena High School Stadium, located at 1401 Fremont Avenue. Gates will open at 7:00 p.m., with live entertainment beginning at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks spectacular will begin at 9:00 p.m. Gates will close promptly at 8:30 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Tickets are available for purchase at www.southpasadenaca.gov/events.
Movies in the Park
Dates: Friday, July 10, 2026, and Friday, August 7, 2026
Time: Movies begin at sunset
Location: Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue
Movies in the Park returns this summer with two free outdoor movie nights. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs to enjoy a movie under the stars.
The 2026 movie schedule includes:
- Friday, July 10, 2026 — Hoppers (2026)
- Friday, August 7, 2026 — Cars (2006), celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary
Shakespeare in the Park
Dates: Saturday, July 18, 2026, and Sunday, July 19, 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Locations: Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue
Shakespeare in the Park will return to Garfield Park with two outdoor performances of Macbeth. Community members are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy live theater in a relaxed park setting.
Concerts in the Park

Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Garfield Park, 1000 Park Avenue
The City’s Concerts in the Park summer series will feature four free live music performances. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening of music with family and friends.

- Sunday, June 28, 2026 — OC Groove Band (Funk, Soul, Rock & Roll)
- Sunday, July 26, 2026 — Y2K2K (2000)
- Sunday, August 2, 2026 — Sangria (Latin)
- Sunday, August 16, 2026 — New Romantics (Taylor Swift Tribute)
