Subject: My Gym Event and Mad Science L.A. Show at the South Pasadena Public Library

South Pasadena, CA – The South Pasadena Public Library will host two upcoming events. The first will be hosted by My Gym Pasadena on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room located at 1115 El Centro Street, South Pasadena. This engaging playtime event for children ages 1- to 10-years old is designed to spark children’s imagination, provide a socialization opportunity, and build their confidence. My Gym will lead singing, dancing, and a reading of A Magical My Gym Day. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition, the South Pasadena Public Library’s next Wonderful Wednesday event will be on June 25, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The series continues on the Oxley Street side of Library Park featuring Mad Science LA. “Fire and Ice” is an interactive presentation that showcases fascinating science demonstrations about air pressure, fire, bubbling potions and much more. Audience members will behave like true mad scientists by creating and testing hypotheses and meeting "Eggbert", a giant animated egg, that is too big for his own house. They will see how the magic of science can make fire appear and disappear and experience ice that cannot melt and be mesmerized by a foggy effect that comes straight from the movies!

The Library offers many other activities, such as the annual Summer Reading Program, storytimes, Wonderful Wednesdays presentations, a Summer Arts Crawl activity, a chance to walk in the Festival of Balloons parade, and events for adults, such as All Abilities Club, Walk ‘N Talk Book Club, and a lecture by Today’s Wild West producer Mark Bedor.

Everyone – adults, teens, and children – is encouraged to register for the Summer Reading Program and read to earn free books and prizes. Information about the Summer Reading Program and other events is available at www.southpasadenaca.gov/Srpinfo

Upon request made no later than four (4) business days before the event, the City will provide a reasonable accommodation for a qualified person with a disability to have equal access to the event.  Please call (626) 403-7341 or fill out the City’s request form available at www.southpasadenaca.gov/ADA and email the form to Human Resources at HR@southpasadenaca.gov.
