Arrest of Convicted Felon in Possession of Loaded Firearm

South Pasadena (Calif.) – On Monday, March 31, 2025, at approximately 9:29 p.m., a South Pasadena police officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue. During the stop, a records check revealed that the driver was on probation for assault.
Further investigation led officers to discover a loaded firearm inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Fabian Lizarraga of Los Angeles, was arrested. Due to a prior felony conviction, Lizarraga is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Lizarraga was taken into custody and transported to Pasadena City Jail. Lizarraga faces multiple charges, including:
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded firearm
