Subject: Officers Intervene in Mental Health Crisis

South Pasadena, CA – On July 19, 2025, at approximately 6:35 p.m., South Pasadena Police officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of St. Albans Avenue following a report of a potentially suicidal individual threatening to jump from a residential roof.

Upon arrival, officers located the subject seated on the roof’s ledge, approximately twenty-five feet above the ground. Officers immediately initiated communication in an effort to de-escalate the situation. Through continued dialogue, one officer was able to safely approach and pull the individual away from the edge.

Paramedics from the South Pasadena Fire Department responded and provided medical assistance for pre-existing injuries. The individual was subsequently transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
