South Pasadena to Resume Overnight & 72-Hour Parking Enforcement
Published on March 27, 2025
The City of South Pasadena will resume enforcement of overnight parking restrictions and 72-hour parking violations, effective April 7, 2025.
The enforcement of these parking regulations was temporarily suspended due to the impact of the Eaton Fire, but with recovery efforts well underway, the City is reinstating standard parking rules to ensure public safety and community accessibility.
To support individuals and families displaced by wildfires, exemptions from overnight parking permit requirements will be available until May 5, 2025. To qualify, applicants must provide one of the following forms of documentation:
• Proof of Residence: Acceptable documents include a utility bill, lease agreement, or government-issued ID listing the affected address.
• Official Evacuation Notice or Emergency Declaration: Documentation from local authorities (e.g., fire department or emergency management agencies) confirming that the residence was located within an evacuation zone or a declared disaster area.
Individuals who require overnight parking should obtain a permit, which can be conveniently purchased online at www.southpasadenaca.gov.
