Subject: Structure Fire in the 600 Block of Grand Avenue

South Pasadena, CA – At approximately 1:03 p.m. on July 2, 2025, the South Pasadena Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the 600 block of Grand Avenue. Fire units from the cities of Pasadena and Alhambra also responded to assist.

Engine 81 was first on scene and found a single-story, detached garage involved with heavy fire and spreading to a neighboring structure and recreational vehicle.  Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and conducted an aggressive attack. Their fast and coordinated actions prevented the fire from igniting adjacent exposures, significantly limiting property damage and safeguarding neighboring residents.

Crews simultaneously performed a search to confirm no occupants were trapped and ensured the safety of pets on site. Their rapid intervention and effective teamwork were instrumental in keeping the fire contained to the unit of origin.

There were no reported injuries to the occupant, firefighters, or pets. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
