Subject: Suspect Arrested for Possession of a Ghost Gun

South Pasadena, CA – On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at approximately 3:16 a.m., a South Pasadena Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1100 block of Columbia Avenue. The vehicle stopped, and the officer contacted the driver, who stated he had a warrant. A records check revealed an active warrant for trespassing issued by the Arcadia Police Department.

A search of the vehicle yielded a loaded, unserialized semi-automatic handgun, known as a ghost gun, that is untraceable by law enforcement. It was discovered in the trunk of the vehicle.

The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Deshone Derryll Busby of Los Angeles. Deshone was taken into custody and transported to Pasadena City Jail on the following charges:

• Possession of an unserialized firearm; and
• Possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
