Subject: Suspect Arrested for Possession of a Loaded Firearm
South Pasadena, CA – On July 2, 2025, at approximately 11:31 p.m., South Pasadena Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Cadillac DTS for traffic violations in the 2000 block of Alhambra Road. Upon approach, the driver, identified as 36-year-old Jared Wilson of Los Angeles, refused to roll down his windows, claiming they were inoperative. He also declined to open the vehicle door or exit the car when directed by officers.
Officers were eventually able to open the vehicle door and safely remove Wilson from the car. During the removal, officers discovered that Wilson had been sitting on and attempting to conceal a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
Wilson, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked at the Pasadena City Jail for multiple firearm-related offenses, including possession of a loaded firearm, and being a felon in possession of both a firearm and ammunition.
“The officers involved employed exemplary tactics, communication, and de-escalation techniques. Their professionalism and reliance on training helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation from escalating into a violent encounter,” said Chief Brian Solinsky.
