Subject: Statement Regarding Electrical Upgrades from Southern California Edison

South Pasadena, Calif.—As part of Southern California Edison’s (SCE) long-term plan to modernize the energy grid and reduce wildfire risk, they are planning electrical grid maintenance work in South Pasadena.

Residents may see crews or approved contractors performing this work in your neighborhood. This project will require the use of heavy equipment, road closures/encroachments and temporary scheduled outages. You may also see helicopters used in installing upgraded equipment.

Upgrades are expected to take place between October 14, 2025 and January 30, 2026. Affected households will be notified by SCE of planned outages associated with this work which will take place in the Southwest Monterey Hills area.
