Subject: Community Invited to Hear Proposed Improvements to Mission-Pasadena-Arroyo Intersection

South Pasadena, Calif. – The City of South Pasadena invites the public to a community meeting regarding proposed safety improvements to the intersections at Mission Street/Pasadena Avenue and Mission Street/Arroyo Drive. The community meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. on October 5, 2026, in the City Council Chambers, located at 1424 Mission Street, South Pasadena, CA 91030.

The Mission St. – Pasadena Ave. – Arroyo Dr. Intersection Improvement Project, which is funded by a Metro Measure M Subregional Program (MSP) grant, seeks to enhance safety, accessibility, and overall traffic flow for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The project area features two closely spaced, complex intersections that serve as key access points to Arroyo Vista Elementary School, Arroyo Seco Park, and local transit routes.

During the community meeting, City staff will provide a project background and present several design concepts that consider improved intersection layout and traffic signage, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and curb and lane narrowing treatments designed to reduce pedestrian crossing distances and improve traffic flow.
