The City of South Pasadena’s Capital Improvement Program will introduce the development of two new neighborhood pocket parks on vacant parcels to expand access to green space and enhance community recreation.
Berkshire Pocket Park will be built on a 7,482 square foot site and will include a gated, signed entrance, a walking path, a landscaped gathering area with picnic tables and seating, a four-square play court, outdoor fitness equipment, and an open turf play area. The park will feature new trees and landscaping, benches, lighted bollards, a drinking fountain, a pet waste station, and trash and recycling receptacles.
Grevelia Pocket Park will be developed on a 9,130 square foot site with access from Grevelia Street. The park will feature a signed, lighted entrance, a circular plaza with a rock and succulent garden and public art, seating and tables, a walking path, children’s play equipment, a passive turf play area, and a circular seating area around a tree. Additional amenities include landscaping, new trees, benches, lighted bollards, a drinking fountain, a pet waste station, and trash and recycling receptacles.
