South Pasadena Public Library is Accepting Applications from 9th through 12th Graders for its Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

WHAT IS TAB?
The South Pasadena Public Library Teen Advisory Board is a small group of high school students dedicated to improving the library in the following ways:
Suggesting ideas for the teen zone
Practice creative brainstorming, problem solving, team building skills
Recommending books, movies, and music for the Library to purchase
Learn about how libraries build collections
Creating, planning, and implementing events specifically for teens
Get experience with event planning and coordination
Helping to create and maintain the Library’s social media for teens
Learn about marketing and promotion
The skills learned in TAB are transferable and desirable for many careers. TAB members will also earn community service hours, gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to work with professionals and build relationships.
Teen Advisory Board members must...
1. Be in the 9th-12th grades
2. Have a South Pasadena Public Library card
3. Attend all meetings and events to earn community service hours
SPRING 2018 MEETING & EVENT SCHEDULE
Meetings take place in the Ray Bradbury Conference Room on the second floor of the Library on the following Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00 p.m.:
Events will take place in the Library Community Room from 4:30-6:30 p.m.:
Wednesday, February 20: Art Night! Make bath bombs, decorate phone cases, and more.
Wednesday, April 10: Literary Fest! Celebrate teen books with crafts, food and games.
