Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project
Project Overview
The Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project is a regional stormwater capture and reuse project designed to improve water quality, support local water sustainability, and reduce the use of potable drinking water for irrigation. The project builds upon existing water infrastructure that has been part of the Arroyo Seco for more than a century. The goal is to improve existing vegetated city-owned land, capture and treat stormwater runoff, and reuse this water for beneficial purposes such as irrigation of local recreational areas.
The project is funded through the Los Angeles County Safe Clean Water Program, which supports projects that improve water quality, increase stormwater capture, and enhance local water resources.
Project Purpose
The Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project supports several regional water goals:
- Improve water quality within the Arroyo Seco
- Capture and reuse stormwater runoff
- Meet regional stormwater capture and reuse goals
- Reduce the use of potable drinking water for irrigation
- Increase sustainable local water resources
